Wine of the Kings:
Australia vs Italy Nebbiolo Dinner
Arguably Italy’s most revered grape variety, Nebbiolo is the heart and soul of some of the world’s most sought-after wines, including the iconic Barolo and Barbaresco.
A notoriously fickle grape, Nebbiolo is grown by only the most patient and skilled winemakers, the vast majority residing in Italy’s north-west region of Piedmont. Australia, however, has started giving the Italians a run for their money, and is home to the greatest number of Nebbiolo vines outside of the motherland. And what an outstanding job they’re doing, producing remarkably complex and age-worthy yet elegant wines and earning international acclaim.
But we’ll let you be the judge. This exclusive Pendolino Wine Dinner, part of the American Express delicious Month Out, will see Australia and Italy’s best Nebbiolo wines sitting side-by-side, complementing an exquisite four course Italian degustation, designed by chef Nino Zoccali.
