The Egger Ramer 'Kristan Riserva' comes from a single vineyard in the premier Bolzano-Gries zone, at 250 meters above sea level. The vines range from 70-80 years old, and the wine spends over a year aging in large barriques. The wine is ruby to deep garnet red in the glass, with aromas of violet and blackberry. Full and velvety on the palate, the wine displays an earthy finish and ample tannins. Ideally matched with roasts, ragu, osso bucco, steak or sharp, mature cheeses.
