Guerra Albano is a family-owned and operated artisan winery in the Friuli DOC appellation. Just 25 kilometers from the Slovenian border and 90 odd minutes from Venice, this small 10 hectare estate is passionate about using sustainable methods, making hand-crafted wines without the use of herbicides. We have been in collaboration with this fantastic label for almost a decade.
The 2019 Pinot Nero comes from one of the finest appellations in the region - Friuli Colli Orientali - and is a very European expression of Pinot Noir. Ruby red in colour, it opens up perfectly in the glass to reveal its origins. Precise and complex on the nose, with floral and fruity aromas – with notes of violet and black pepper. On the palate, it shows excellent harmony - elegant, fresh and velvety with well-integrated fine tannins.
