2013 Orlando Abrigo 'Très Plus' Langhe Bianco - A showstopping wine, this is a vibrant blend of Chardonnay with Piedmont's native Nascetta grape. The Chardonnay is aged for ten months in oak while the Nascetta ferments on its own lees in stainless steel. Weekly batonnage (lees stirring) is used for both parcels to impart texture before blending. The resulting wine is an intense yellow in colour with fresh broad flavours of peach, citrus and wet stone. A top wine from the Langhe, beautifully matured and with a tip of the hat stylistically to France. 13%
2020 Cherubino Bianco - This delightful blend from acclaimed winemaker Larry Cherubino is full bodied and crisp on the palate. Low yields in 2020 provided exceptional quality fruit. The Arneis contributes notes of pear and red apples, whilst the Riesling adds citrus and spice character. The fruit is entirely hand-picked, and the wine is matured for 11 months prior to bottling. The finished product reflects great attention to detail at every step of the winemaking journey. 90 points, Robert Parker; Bronze Medal - 2021 Wine Show of WA. 13.3%
2021 Bruna Pigato 'Le Russeghine' Riviera Ligure di Ponente - The 50 year old winery, Bruna, is considered the benchmark producer of the local 'Pigato' grape (aka Vermentino) in Liguria. 'Le Russeghine' Pigato is made with grapes from the clifftop Russeghine vineyard above the town of Ranzo Borgo. The red clay soil here is rich in iron, and lends itself to creating the fullest expression of Vermentino. Aged on fine lees for 8 months. Fruity aromas of yellow peach and grapefruit intertwine with sage, thyme and anise. Citrus fruits and almond notes on the finish. 13%
2018 Tertini Tasmanian Chardonnay - From the pristine environment and rich, ancient soils of the Coal River Valley, just north of Hobart. Naturally fermented and matured on lees for 10 months before bottling, the Chardonnay is a delicate balance of citrus flavour, subtle toastiness and crisp acidity. Made without malolactic fermentation or battonage, this is a modern style of Chardonnay, with a rounded texture from time in French oak. Top Gold, 2019 International Cool Climate Wine Show; 94 Pts, James Halliday Wine Companion. 13%
