Native to Piedmont in northwest Italy, Arneis is commonly called 'white Barolo'. The grape produces delicate and aromatic wines with fresh acidity. Plantings of Arneis in Australia are still quite small, however, it is growing in popularity as more consumers and winemakers discover its charms.
The fruit for the Strada del Bacco Arneis was hand picked from a single vineyard in Eden Valley. A pristine example of the Arneis grape, this wine demonstrates the delicate pear and apple flavours for which Arneis is known. Subtle spicy notes punctuate with a soft palate and a crisp, savoury finish. We are proud to have it feature in our Pendolino Private Collection. Single vineyard, handcrafted wine made by Darryl Catlin. Honing his skills over more than a decade at Shaw and Smith, Darryl is now creating his own unique style of award-winning wines. In 2016, his winery was recognised by James Halliday as one of the “Top 10 Best New Wineries”.
